Edinburgh Fringe ’13 – Must See Fringe Shows (Week 1)

We are introducing a new and extra rating for a small selection of our reviewed shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.

This is called the “Must See Show” rating and our reviewers can nominated a small number of shows for this extra category.

  • A “Must See Show” stamp is added to the end of the chosen review.
  • A “Must See Show ” label can be applied to a show of any of FringeReview’s rated shows.

FRMustSee
To remind you, we only publish shows of RECOMMENDED, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED or OUTSTANDING quality, and offer private feedback to companies at a less than RECOMMENDED level.

We do this in our chosen role as the ‘Good Fringe Guide’ – seeking out quality work and sharing that with our readers.

The rationale behind the new “MUST SEE SHOW” label is to flag up work of any rating that our review team feels is exciting or interesting in some way. Some work may need improvement, may have flaws but will still represent something potentially ground breaking, bold and a different.

Our “MUST SEE SHOW” rating will help to point that work out and celebrate that boldness. Not all experiments in theatre succeed first time, but the spirit of experimentation and creativity can make for compelling work.

Best Wishes,

Dan Lentell (Editor, Edinburgh)
Paul Levy (Publisher and Chief Editor)
